Dans son sixième recueil de poèmes, Christian Roy cherche sa place dans une Acadie devenue le microcosme d'un monde où la pensée est de plus en plus atrophiée, où la nature est l'esclave du progrès et où l'invention et la vérité sont des synonymes. Tentant de réconcilier un coeur et un esprit à la fois belliqueux et romantiques, le poète, dans une sorte de nuit obscure de l'âme, déconstruit les artifices de la société afin de procéder « à l'excision du mal » une fois pour toutes.
